You Can't Win All of 'Em

As much as it would be nice, the Jays will not go 162-0, or even 160-2. An 8-4 loss denied the Jays a shot at sweeping the Indians for the first time since Jabu made an appearance in the Major League movies (great series).

Maybe the only bright spot in this game was the Jays attempted comeback in the sixth inning. I was excited when i saw Rios hit the triple and then Wells crank one to left, but I guess it wasn't enough. Nice to see some signs of urgency though. Maybe the offence won't be as dormant this year.

For the second straight game, the bullpen fell apart and this time cost the Jays a victory. Purcey didn't do much to help his cause either. I love the ten strikeouts in 4.2 IP, but the six walks killed him. Lind, Rolen and Overbay all were hit less. Lyle did have two walks, but other than Rios and Wells the offence wasn't awake yet. Maybe it was the 10 AM ET start or the massive attendance of 14,216. This was a baseball game at not a hockey game.

At Least the Yankees are 3-3 and the Red Sox are 2-4. Playoffs here we come.

Lazy Jayz

Welcome to a fan's dream of seeing Canada's only baseball team make the playoffs for the first time in fifteen years. Yes, even the Leafs (boo) have made the playoffs before the last time the Jays did. Time for that to change. We got a good young team that will turn heads. With a 5-2 start to the 2009 campaign, there's all the reason for optimism. Enjoy and cheer on the boys this summer!
